HBCF documentation support

Give the insurer a clear construction record.

We organise the building evidence needed to explain what is incomplete, what is defective, where it is located and what it should reasonably cost to rectify or complete.

Experience built on real recovery projects.

For more than two years, we have helped many clients prepare insurer-ready documentation for homes we were engaged to complete after their original builder entered liquidation.

Because we create the records while completion work is underway, we can distinguish incomplete work from defects in the original builder’s work, document where each item is located, show what was rectified and support the related completion or repair costs with site evidence, scopes, quotations and invoices.

For incomplete-work claims in particular, we understand how the insurer assesses the amount payable against the building contract, agreed variations, the work left to complete and the applicable policy limits. We know how to compile the contract and payment records, measured incomplete-work scope, photographs, reports, quotations, invoices and other cost evidence needed to substantiate the amount available under the policy.

We also understand how associated expenses should be evidenced. Depending on the policy and the insurer’s decision, these may include reasonable temporary accommodation, removal or storage, relevant technical reports such as a dilapidation report, and certain reasonable legal or other costs incurred in pursuing compensation or rectification.
